A lil’ bit of new new…

Yeah, it ain’t very often that I get treated to something extremely fabulous, but last Saturday, my world was completely ROCKED. We’d just finished up a couple’s shoot in Charlotte, NC (I’ll post images soon) and I asked my business partner (my husband, y’all) if we could run by Bigg’s Camera and check out the D600( that I’ve greedily had my eye on). He agreed and we headed on over. We arrived and immediately I walk up to the counter and ask the sales clerk if they had any D600s. He  replied “yes, just got this one in, but I’mma warn you, once you test drive a Porche you don’t want to go back to driving a Honda.” I just smiled and waited for him to unbox my $1600 crush. He handed it to me and I felt as though I’d just held my first born son! LOL!! It was beautiful, it felt good..hell it even smelled good. I switched the power button to “on”, adjusted my settings and started snapping. Stephen had brought along our 24mm-70mm to use it in the test drive. I was in love and I’m sure my husband saw it written all over my face.  We traded thoughts back and forth and told the salesman that we would be back after we discussed what we wanted to do. Twenty minutes later I was carrying that beautiful, yellow Nikon bag out of the store and into the car. The rest…well you’ll just have to keep an eye on my blog. 🙂

Enzo

Enzo is our 4 year old Lhasa. With one hell of an under bite and “sho nuff” cool personality, he has made the last four years of our lives enjoyable. Let me tell you, it’ has been one serious journey. Growing up, my mom always allowed my brother and I to have a pet. As much as she didn’t care for them being in the house, she suppressed what ever reason she had for not being an animal lover just so we’d be happy. I can only imagine some of the grimaces she made behind my back when she’d wake to find the dog asleep in my bed or find us both eating from the same ice cream cone. She knew I was a stone cold dog lover and most of the time she let me be.

It wasn’t until we got Enzo that I realized just how much of a bond we create with our pets. I guess I never had a pet long enough to experience a true connection with them.  It amazes me how much animals really understand us. Stephen and I look at each other with eyebrows raised when we tell him to do something and HE ACTUALLY DOES IT! He’s such a big part of our family and we wouldn’t trade him for the world.

I’ve put together a little series of images from a rainy day. He was in such a relaxed element, I thought it’d be nice to capture him. Enjoy!
